Haskell is one of my favorite races, and Monmouth one of my favorite tracks ... I think I'm up to 12 Haskell hats at this point.
And this is one of the reasons why I say NO NO NO to those who think horses should be required to compete in each leg of the TC series ... no skipping Preakness. We would never have Woody's record!
Big Red got me into this sport watching his amazing Belmont on TV, watched Slew too. I was lucky to be at the track for Affirmed's win. The glimps of two chestnuts flashing by ... didn't think I'd be waiting so long!!!

A perfect example to the ends of generations of breeding, with an enlarged heart to carry oxygen more efficiently, had enormous stride, and imo, he was the perfect running machine.

Easy Goer was a son of Alydar, not Secretariat. His best offspring, IMO, were Risen Star, General Assembly, and the mighty "Iron Lady," Lady's Secret.
