First day back to the track after her fever- she jogged once around the Santa Anita track this morning.
Wins Belmont's 7th vs older today!
Salutos Amigos to skip the Weschester in favor of Churchill Downs Handicap.
Has arrived at Churchill Downs just before 2 pm today. He traveled great and was greeted by a large crowd despite the rain. He is expected to train over the Churchill track up to the K Derby starting tomorrow at 8:30 am. He couldn't come out of his final work at Keeneland yesterday any better than he did. He had a new pair of shoes put on him just this morning.
This guy is one of the two horses I can't ignore. I like him more every time I see him.
From the Irish Field News: "The odds-on favourite Air Force Blue was never a threat and finished well down the field." ..... "Aidan O'Brien's commented: "Ryan said he just didn't feel like the same horse as last year." ... http://www.theirishfield.ie/galileo-gold-claims-2000-guineas-as-air-force-blue-disappoints-207509/#.VyTl9xMsn9U.twitter
I actually haven't read either article. I primarily just wrote what's been said about him over the last week or so including after this mornings work. The more I read about his quirks and personality the more it reminds me of Tiznow's weird track antics. I hope the raving focused Lani shows up on May 7th :)
He is noted as being exceptionally studdish. Plenty of pics to back that up. He is extremely stubborn, and tends to do things his way. His connections have been quoted saying that he has done this before, and they aren't all that concerned- because when he wants to work he is very good. They were also quoted as saying that they won't know which Lani will show up on D day until the gates open (this description reminds me of how Tiznow trained and raced).
