I am just a horse racing fan, if I hit a bit is is pure luck. I have a question for true horseman. How do you think Black Gaviar would do in the Breeder's Cup Sprint against the worlds best? Thanks I will hang up and listen.

Winning the Derby, Preakness and one other graded stakes does not qualify a horse as automatically getting into the Hall of Fame. Just ask Pleasant Colony, Real Quiet, Charismatic, Funny Cide and War Emblem

I'm gonna reserve my final opinion about Black Caviar until her see her step out of her comfort zone of Australia and face other sprinters abroad. Because basically, to this point in her career, she's beaten a very good sprinter in his own right in Hay List multiple times. But then she continues to beat up on the same ole same inferior horses in Australia. I remember just a few year back how so many people talked about how Overdose was unbeatable because he went unbeaten for so long. But much like Black Caviar in Australia, Overdose ran up his career record by beating up largely inferior horses in Hungary and Germany. Once he came to Great Britain for the Temple Stakes and King's Stand Stakes, he was a soundly beaten 7th at Haydock in the Temple Stakes. Ran a creditable 4th in the King's Stand, but my point being, once he got away from beating the same horses over and over in Hungary, it didn't take long at all for Overdose to get beaten. Hence, my point of waiting to see Black Caviar take on European sprinters at Ascot in the Golden Jubilee before I decide if she's really as good as advertised? Or if she's another Overdose? JMO.

Australia produces some of the world's finest turf sprinters, & BC is the best of the best. As lonhro stated above, Ortensia won in Dubai which validated the quality of Aussie sprinters. Ortensia had previously lost by 6-7 lengths to BC.

There isnt a chance in the world she will finish 7th over her distance,she might get beat of course thats possible,but it wouldnt be by much and another horse would have to run a low 107 time ,her last run was a lazy 1min 10 under a tight hold the whole way

Come on....Overdose was beating nobodies in ratings terms whereas BC has beaten a handful of horses rated 125+! The only significant risk for BC in winning in Europe or anywhere else comes down to how she travels and luck in running. Horses like Starspangledbanner, Choisir, Miss Andretti etc are all universally considered greatly inferior to this mare and we know how good they were on the international stage.

She is a brilliant horse, has a high cruising speed and a devastating turn of foot. She would be dangerous wherever she ran.

I am sure she could do it, in my opinion she is a world class mare, americans should look at and europe sometimes they do a great job too; there are too much inbreeding in U.S.A.

Her class will show on dirt or turf at the 5 to 6 furlong distance. Now, if the track was sloppy, she would likely be scratched. IMO

She is 21/21, 20 stakes wins, Timeform rate her the best sprinter since Dayjur....fit and well she would brain any sprinter in the world. The people best qualified to make a judgement have stated in their ratings how superior a sprinter BC is to anything else worldwide. Have a look at the Al Quoz winner, Ortensia.....7 lengths inferior to this mare in Australia.

@smarty1968, it's a hard question really. The knock on this mare is that she refuses to travel outside of Australia, and keeps beating up on the same horses over and over in that country. She's allegedly supposed to travel to Royal-Ascot in Great Britain in June to run in the G1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at 6f. I'll actually believe she's going to run in the Golden Jubilee once I see the stalls doors open and see her start rolling down that long, straight track at Ascot. Ask that question again after I've seen her run at least time against horses somewhere other than in Australia.

She doesn't have to prove anything more really, the perception that she has beaten donkeys all her career is contrary to the international ratings of the horses she has been defeating. Let the haters hate if they choose, the score is on the board.....worldwide experts know she is one of the greatest sprinters to have lived. Thinking she might just hit the board in the BC Turf Sprint too
