Being you live around MA, I’m assuming you’re a Pats fan. How about Rodney Harrison. George Harrison. William or Benjamin Harrison. Good name for a boy!! Congrats.
Seems a little premature being his last two workouts were pretty rank at 5F, but Margano is back up this Saturday – Race 9 at Aqueduct. 1 1/16 mile turf. Let’s hope he’s just a late bloomer…
Haven’t heard from anything about our boy Brethren in a while, so I looked him up. He had been hitting the workout tabs pretty regularly (doing pretty good) and raced Sept 3rd at Remington Park in an allowance - Finished 5th. Lets hope to see him back in Winner’s Circle before too long. He really could use it about now. I thought I read that Asmussen has taken him over.
Margano back up this Saturday. Race 4 at Penn National (8F turf). Oddly, Lentenor racing same day at Deleware. Keep your fingers crossed he gets a good ride and can get his picture taken at the end.
Just saw this fellow is full brother to Curlin. Does anyone know if he’ll compete for Triple Crown? He’s had a few decent works at Santa Anita since January.
Here’s a funny thought: I understand Matz and a fellow named Prado have a pretty stellar past with a particular beast of a horse that could be comparable to glimpses we’ve seen of URags. IF Castellano stays on board Algo, would we start to get excited if we see a Matz/Prado combo take another shot at the 3Crown?? Anything is possible…AND…Prado is working Gulfstream now. Hmmmm… haha!!
I predict Johnny V will come into the picture to ride Algorithms and Castellano will stay on the Rags. URags is a tough competitor on I'm sure Castellano knows this. It will be interesting to see.
Margano would have had the run the race of his life to win that one. Mile and 16th in 1.41.58. His maiden was a good run, but no where near the time needed to win his last. Biggest issue I saw with his last race was it looked like he bumped another horse when going down the stretch. Kinda messed up his momentum. Those little things get better with experience. I'm optimistic he'll get it right soon.
1 1/6 mile TURF. Race 8 at Gulfstream. He's up against a little more brass in this one. Good luck!!
“Ryan's Gold, who was claimed for $12,500 just before the start of the race, was euthanized because of his injuries, track officials said.
