Being from NZ, I don't know whether SYT can handle the track. There are two factors I do know. One is that most of the good competition has drawn badly. Also, none of them have won any races of note. SYT has won the WS Cox Plate twice, and that is big time. If there was the usual champ around like Cigar or Sunday Silence, I could understand that he would have no chance. It seems Uncle Mo is the big noise here. However, he has drawn box 11!

Laz. So You Think (NZL) is a great animal. However, he has never come up against a really good horse. If he was on form like he was at this time last year, then maybe. The only real test he had was in the arc, and he did run a good race, being drawn wide. Just as well Danedream (GER) is not here - no she IS a real champ.

I like the look of HDG - other than for the 10 barrier draw! I don't think SYT can win, even though I would like him to, as he is a Kiwi like me. He is not the same horse that won the Cox Plate twice. There is also a ig question over the quality of the European horses now. These guys are no Dr. Fagers!

I think that HDG should win. I am from New Zealand, where SYT comes from. I have my doubts about SYT, as he is not the same horse that won the Cox Plate twice. I am also concerned about the wide barrier draws of Mo and HDG. It could even be an upset. My money is on HDG at 6/1 though. Hope she lives up to the hype.
