I REALLY don't count on "Chrome" getting an easy lead. Of course, one never knows. I DO know Frosted has options, and if he sits, his kick may be stronger than CC coming home.
Good Points @BeastBob Much Respect To You
If not for that DAMN NAIL she stepped on after destroying European competition July 4, 2015 at Belmont Park, she would have gone down as one of the best female turf performers in North American history. In 2014 she won the BC Juvenile Fillies on this track, and will only relish the SA firm going even this year too. It doesn't matter who the Euro's bring here for this. This will be her 3rd start of 2016 with fragments of a freekin nail still in her foot, and she will still win this race. She's won graded stakes at Belmont, Keeneland, Santa Anita, and Saratoga. Chad Brown stated Lady Eli is the best horse he's ever trained. In Chad I trust!
Frosted won the Met (GI) Mile with a 123 Beyer. Then the (GI) Whitney with ease. Beaten favorite at 1-2 in (GI) the Woodward;
missed by a long neck. Don't you think 10-1 is somewhat of a reach?
Frosted has a huge chance here, and should be somewhere around 5-2 or 3-1. Fresh and dangerous, Rosario can sit off California Chrome & Arrogate, then the race is for the taking. Beaten favorites in Grade I races are always dangerous in Breeders Cup races.
By skipping the now seemingly insignificant Jockey Club Gold Cup, Frosted comes in fresh and dangerous. Beaten at odds on in the Woodward, he should be ready to fire here. Hopefully, he'll get a good official work or two on the track. Look out for this huge son of Tapit to head to stud with a big win.
The term "Great" is a very overused term, especially when it comes to sports. "Great" is a term that should transcend generations. Terms like "Outstanding," or even "Brilliant" could be used behind the term "Great." Ruffian was brilliant on the track, and the fact she was so dominant against females prompted her connections to conjure up a match race against Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure; rewrote history. In addition, Jacinto Vasquez was the regular rider for both Foolish Pleasure and Ruffian, but he chose Ruffian although he won the Derby on Foolish Pleasure as one of the favorites. With the death of Ruffian, match races were banned because of the perceived stress of two dueling horses. This makes Ruffian GREAT, because her name is plastered all through horse racing history. Zenyatta will be considered great in another fifteen years or so when it becomes obvious (as years pass) that few horses will come close to her winning streak. In closing, on the track Zenyatta & Rachel Alexandra accomplished more, but Ruffian is "Greater." These days a horse will need to win multiple Breeders Cup races along with many other Grade 1's to be considered great years later.
Tom Durkin - Easily the most colorful race commentator ever. Soon, I will create a montage of his many race calls. I understand Tom riding into the sunset after Saratoga, however I'm a little surprised he's retiring before the fall championship meeting at Belmont Park.
He was KNOWN. Typo. I don't know how to edit my posting.
If the breeding shed were counted with on-the-track prowess, Seattle Slew would be the best all-around horse who ever lived. To date, Slew is the ONLY Triple Crown winner to do so while being undefeated. His breeding career was so great, he was know for that more than he was for his on-the-track accomplishments, and he was a Triple Crown winner.
