Like you pick, Mike. However, Asmussen's three year old charges have done much better than expected this year along the KD 137 trail.I will stick with #11 Astrology along with your pick #7 Sinai.10 CENT Superfecta will be #11 / #7 / #1 Ruler On Ice / #6 Supreme Ruler, #3 Fusa Code, #8 Nacho Saint.
Mike:While I have tremendous respect for JP's Gusto, I'm banking on a big surprise race similar to the Tampa Bay Derby.I am taking a flyer on #12 Bluegrass Jam. This guy has great breeding, top and bottom. He has been well managed by trainer, William Fires, in his four race career. Loves the distance and is capable of going more, as in the KD 137 distance. Bluegrass Jam has posted one of the top workout sets of this highly competitive group in preparation for this race.Though not nominated to the Triple Crown, he has the potential to compete with this great group of horses. Look for Bluegrass Jam to take advantage of what may be a torrid pace. Jockey, Michael Baze will have him well positioned closing for the wire.#12 Bluegrass Jam $2 WIN, $4 PLACE, and $6 SHOW.
Like your top choice!Could it be a Zito Exacta???
Utilize the "Green Dot" money card. It does have a fee of approx. $5, but you can amortize it over the cost of your deposit. Not all sites accept it.By-pass the bankers and their endless fees!!!
Jarrod:Once again I am in complete with your fantastic analysis. I am on your top two picks. Will be rolling with a 10 CENT Superfect with #3 Noble's Promise / #2 Dublin / #4 Northern Giant, #7 Berberis, #1 Super Saver / #4, #7, #1.Here is a thought though, Watch for #7 Berberis (Gryder / Asmussen) who was recently released from the Fairgrounds maiden ranks. Don't worry he won't be trying to corner any silver or gold. He will be just chasing a Saver, a Promise, a Giant and a David. This colt appears to be trainer, Steve Asmussen's only shot at Derby glory. I too think it would be a big surprise, but stranger things have happended in the Derby preps this year. Thanks for the fine analysis, once again.
Jarrod:I like your top pick #1 American Lion.It is raining here (30 miles NW of Hawthorne) though Accuweather.com says that there may be a few morning showers. Hopefully the track will be fast by post-time.I will roll with a 10 CENT Superfecta: #1 American Lion / #7 Backtalk / #3 Boulder Creek / #5 Turf Melody, #4 Yawanna Twist. Thanks for the tremendous analysis.
Yes indeed. My fear is he is coming back too quickly (22 days).
Unfortunately, his resourcefullness will not be enough to win the Tampa Bay Derby. I must agree, however, I too look forward to watching his odysee towards the first Saturday in May.
I'm quite fond of any of the Broken Vow progeny. Love this guy on the Turf!!!
Should win the Tampa Bay Derby with Odysseus giving chase.
