just held off the late-charging Gio Ponti in the Man O' War. i hit the $5 exacta
no Ryehill Dreamer, Sidney's Candy or The Usual Q.T. Caracortado should win this handily. right?
i think he has a shot. seems to be getting better the more he races. beat Belmont winner Ruler on Ice at Pimlico earlier this year, but didn't show up in the Preakness (was probably out classed). glad to see a son of Smarty Jones doing well, espeically after what happened to Gilded Gem. i'll be pulling for CI in the Haskell along with Rosie.
to the original poster who said the greatest racehorse of all time = whoever your favorite racehorse is.. that's a moronic and ill-informed statement. Justin Bieber is a lot of people's favorite artist, but does that make him better than the Beatles? I think we would all agree it most certainly does not. Sorry, but you can't just write off your opinions as fact because you want to. Statistics, analysis, performance, championships, etc.. are what determines an athletes stature among the all-time greats. Not how much you love them.
ruffian that's awesome. i'm originally from Shreveport, LA. my father used to take me to LA Downs all the time.
icyhot.. no Curlin?
i'm here to eat my crow. excellent race by MI. apparently turf and blinkers off was a good mix. congrats Bob!!
face it Bob, he's a one-hit wonder. he won the Santa Anita Derby because the two favorites didn't run.
it's amazing how so many people think all graded stakes races (be it G1, G2 or G3) are the same level of difficulty. just because Zenyatta won some stakes races doesn't make her that special. there are a lot more factors that go into being a quality horse besides just a superficial resume.
