agree, RT is a single for me on my pick 6 ticket.
Shared Belief will be the deserving favorite for the BCC. With that said, I believe he will be a very short price and some others at much higher odds have a very good chance to beat him. I am hoping that Toast of New York runs in this one, jhe has some dirt pedigree in his background and he has the tactical speed to not le Bayern go on cruise control like he did in his last race. California Chrome needed that last race to get him back in the game. Tonalist is very dangerous.
Great race by California Chrome! Really shows that Beyer Speed figures need to be taken with a grain of salt. California Chrome was the easy winner, that't all that matters. He only had to beat the other 18 in the field, and he did that convincingly. On this web site I know Chrome was knocked by his lack of pedigree to get 1 1/4. His pedigree was good enough to get him across the finish line ahead of the rest. His winning time is inconsequential. I liked Chrome since his Cal Cup romp. I will be cashing my KDFW exacta box Chrome/field at 30-1. Fortunate that I liked him so early in the 2014 season. Those Future wagers are alot of fun.
Chitu and Tapiture both worked today for the Derby. Looks like they both may be entered. Not good news for Pablo Del Monte. Good news for all who bet exacta KDFW in pool 1 watiing for a refund.
Youre right Roses4U, I've got CC at 30-1 in an exacta box with the field from KDFW pool 2, I am hopeful and crossing my fingers on that one.
sounds like you are a big CC fan Johnnie. Great column! I like you believe that California Chrome has been ultra impressive. Hopefully he gets a solid PP and a good break out of the gate in the Derby, and he Will be the one to beat. It will be California Chromes Day, and all of those fortunate to bet him at big odds in the KDF Pools. Stealing one of your lines Johnnie, you won't hear it from me, but I've got CC in KDFW pool 2 at 30-1 in an exacta box with the field. Go CC.
Good analysis Laurie. I have Wicked Strong ranked #2 on my derby list. #1 is California Chrome, i've had him ranked #1 on my list since his romp in the San Felipe. I think you are wrong on your pedigree analysis for California Chrome. The Trainer Art Sherman believes the 1 1/4 will be no problem for him. Hopefully Chrome will burst from the pack at the top of the stretch, it wll take alot to reel him in.
So Happy for the Owner and Trainer and the Jockey, and for California Chrome. I have liked him since his January win in the Cal Cup.He will be very dangerous in the KY Derby
Bring home the roses Chrome!
Strong Mandate drew well at post 4, no excuses this time, he won't be wide on the turns. Looking for a big performance form him.
