I agree with you, but, I also think that this was an incredible performance. If he stay's healthy, which is a big if, he could have quite a career ahead of him. I'm also interested to see the Beyer that he gets. Watch it be a 95. Needless to say I'm not a big fan of Beyers.....
I agree. Belardo is talented, but only runs his best on soft ground, while RIbchester runs well on fast ground like you said. I also just want to say that I appreciate your opinion on turf racing, as well as the fact that you post results for European turf races.
I respect your opinion, but strongly disagree. Every horse can have a bad day every once in a while. Look at Highland Reel and all the times he's flopped. Plus, look at how the horses Hawkbill has beaten who have come back to win strong races. The Ghurka came back to win the Sussex, Time Test the York, Long Island Sound almost won the Secretariet, etc. I think Hawkbill is definitely at the top of his generation. But I don't say these things to argue, I just believe that Hawkbill is a very talented horse.
Wow! Anyone else see this guy's maiden win at Del Mar? So far back he wasn't on the screen for 3/4 of the race, then came roaring up to take it by a half length going away.
Yes, I would definitely agree with you on all those points. And right now Highland Reel would likely be the top Older horse. But in terms of years past, Highland Reel would be a top horse, but definitely not the top older male in the stable. And I also agree with you that Coolmore is having a weak year for three year olds (colts of course). I believe they only have one grade 1, winner who is a three year old colt.
Well, in my opinion, St Nicholas Abbey had the best career of the three. However, I think Australia had the most talent, but his potential was never able to be fully reached. Highland Reel has always been a good horse, but not quite good enough to be a stable star.
Any one else notice that Arrogate has a very short tail? Brings back fond meomories!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but at least half of these horses won't be running.
You have you're opinion, I have mine. If Honor code could pass him in the Whitney then he most likely would have passed him again. Not to mention AP. But in any case, debates are the heart of the sport.
I do as well! I was very impressed with his run in the Coventry Stakes. He had to make all the running down the middle at the end. Plus, the race form has held up very well.
