Hey Icy it wasn't too long ago when you declared Stay Thirsty the best 3 year old in the land. What happened maybe Stay Thirsty got stung in the package by a big hornet and didn't feel quite like the best best 3 year old in the land. Now don't take offense Icy. We never know how things will turn out when horses are involved.
I don't think that is tobacco in your pipe ---
Icy - I hate to dissagree with you but you guys are both wrong -- The best looking fillies by far is in the Ukraine -- the beatles knew this way back when the song went something like " the Ukraine girls really knock me out they leave the west behind " --- I have been there many times and returning soon --- those fillies over there are built for speed and there is none better anywhere BY FAR ---- just thought I would throw my two cents in.
Opinions vary - this match up is yet to be seen -
icy- I'm not getting into it with you again the last time you whupped this ole hillbilly pretty good. But I enjoyed your comments and your knowledge. Really in the last 70 years only a handful of super talented horses have placed their hoofs on the track. The fastest and best three year old out there is probably in some run down barn wondering why he can't get another apple or at least some kind of treat.
Coil possible had an eye infection - probably shouldn't have ran. In this sport where there is alot of money on the line corruption or manipulation is not far away. For example T. Pletchers back up horse to Uncle Mo was Stay Thirsty which is also owned by the Repole connection. Out of all the horses T. Pletcher is training his best happens to come from same owners. I would venture to say there are better horses than these in T. Pletchers training camp but the buddy system comes first -- like in any thriving business.
I have this broodmare and looking at next seasons booking for a sire cover ---- what's your recommendation and why ----
No human can run a 4 minute mile either -- unless they have proper training -- but as Horse racing goes when you don't think a horse can do something the unexpected happens --- ask any gambler ---
Who's counting boys - when playing craps if a new shooter came out with a 4 or 10 I would immediately buy the flip side - if he had a decent role I usually made a little money - In horses many many strategies and I am no expert by any means - One opinion is to catch 2 year olds in Graded stakes from top trainers and stay with them - If you get lucky and pick the right one you can make some money - I like Shakleford very much - but Nehro was my money pick.
Icy -- Its all some sort of plan or some elaborate joke --- no it's not --- It is obvious you have a very good in depth understanding of the racing horses and betting etc. But you should consider that there are others that have different agenda than only racing -- yet they are exposed to racing in a different area of knowledge - I through out this initial comment directed at the trainers inability to make a correct tactical move in Shacks racing - of course everyone makes mistakes - and this was one he made - I respect your knowledge - so go easy on us Rookie's with different agenda's. Secretariat was a great horse - Mr. Prospector maybe alittle better as he generated 300 million in the stud barn. As I mentioned before the real money is in the stud barn.
