If he could sustain that middle move at a faster pace I do agree that he could be on the improve and in that scenario he could be anywhere turning for home. Given how poorly some of the blue grass field performed there is legitimate concern that his win was just right place right time. And he will be racing for the 3rd time in about a months time. Tough to call as is most of this field
I'm considering him on the back end of the exotics. His form lines put him somewhere in the middle IMO. He benefited from the race layout of the Blue Grass which he won't get in the Derby. You will get great odds if you are backing him that is for sure and the trainer certainly knows how to get a horse ready for the Derby.
Expect he will be running in the alysheba or Churchill downs handicap oaks or derby day
Did anyone take Laoban serious after he stole the Jim Dandy? Almost the same exact situation here..
He's the only Pletcher horse of the many he's got getting 5 weeks rest. I think that's a key thing here. His 2 works post FL Derby have been good indicating he could have another top race coming. Will be very interested in his work and gallops over the track. Definitely on the short list IMO to win the Derby if he continues to train this way
Defintiely glad he's back, he was one of my Derby horses last yr.
Can't wait, excited to see this one return. His Kentucky Derby was too bad to be true
Entered Sunday with stablemate Shagaf in an Allowance race at Aqueduct. A good place to start the season.
2 more steady 6f breezes in the books for her. Has to be coming up on a start in soon
you can count on it, he had a useful prep at Keeneland. Loves the churchill sod
