I've made multiple comments about recent workout activity. I'm a big believer that the modern Thoroughbred is VERY fragile, and the Trainer is constantly battling physical issues and soreness. A recent workout 2-5 days before the race is a sign of physical soundness, and a also a sign that the horse is READY for today's race. A workout too far away from the today's race is sign that the horse may have issues physically and is really not ready for an ALL OUT effort, or the trainer is using the race itself for a workout.

There is more to handicapping than workouts as you know. Candrea was dead money but I'll be dammed if I'll going to post it while I'm betting into that pari mutuel pool.
