He needs to ship ASAP and get here. Has to go through much be ready to run in the U.S. If he is here early enough and his works are good, he is very much a live horse in the KD. He is a route racer for sure and there is much to be said about how he demolished the field in the UAE Derby. Will see when they ship him!
E.K. is a decent horse but has been beat in past races by many horses. Has enough points for the derby but will not stand a chance come derby day. Sorry, good middle distance but pitch for any money finish in may!
Far From Over ran a race that had slow fractions. It is much harder to close on a slow pace than it is to close on a fast pace. Plus the fact the horse stumbled at start and spotted the field seven at the beginning. Would have won by 6 or more lengths if that hadn't of happened. This is a good horse!
Some interesting comments about Commanding Curve. Again my pick to win the Belmont. Closes well to finish sixth. He closed in slow fractions in the KD and finished second. He was obviously better than the other 18 horses in the race. Harder to close in slow fractions than fast fractions. Cal Chrome needs to be pushed in this race. If they let him control the pace the entire race he will win. I would like to see it! But again my pick is Commanding Curve. Well rested and ready to roll!
Well, I posted that this horse would hit the board but not win the KD. Me and my friends crushed the KD. I was telling everyone and anybody to use him. Most all didnt listen. Go back and read my posts long before derby day. Next prediction is CC will easily win the Preakness, But Commanding Curve will win the belmont. Again, you heard it here!
If I remember correctly Candy Boy and Hoppertunity ran on the same fast track as CC. Hoppertunity had a perfect rail trip and was no match for CC. No excuse! Candy Boy I think was to close to the pace, not his running style. But both were beat soundly!
Still it will be CC they evrybody will be trying to run down in the stretch of the KD but I have had my eye on this horse for awhile. He almost didn't make the field with a 3rd place finish last out but he made it. he was cutoff and 10th at the start of the last race and had a lot of ground to makeup which he did weaving through traffic. He was blocked coming around the last turn and had to wait to get through finally having to settle for 3rd. He's better than what people think but can he win the KD. Probably not, but can he hit the board! Absoulutely. He has been in the money at Churchill 100% of the time with a 2nd 3rd and broke his maiden there with a win. If you through him totally out of your wagers for minor awards I think will be a mistake. He likes Churchill Downs and his record proves that. Others may not!
I think CC shouldn't have a problem going the distance in the KD. It was before his last race that people were saying that he would have a tough time going 1-1/8. Now its he will have a tough time going 1-1/4. I don't think it's the distance that will be a problem but would more be the CD surface he may not like as many horses can't handle. He made Candy Boy and Hoppertunity look foolish in his last win. Not sure what Candy Boy was doing up by the lead and Hoppertunity ahd a perfect rail trip although a little wide around the last turn. Both had no excuse with good trips.CC made both look as though they never had a chance!
This horse in my opinion is bar none the best horse going into the KD. I see comments about the disatnce and if he can handle the east coasters. Not sure what some people have been looking at as far as contenders for the KD. But this horse in his wins has yet to be asked to run. He could have won by 15 his last race. Definately the horse I will key on 1st mostly and 2nd on some tickets. It will take a sloppy track and or a terrible post with a bad start and full moon the night before for this horse to be beat in the KD. It's his and his jockeys to win or lose at this point!
Been following this horse for awhile now and he is amazing! He just seperated himself from the rest of the KD contenders with a hand ride to the finish line yesterday. he could have won by 15. He has speed enough to get toward the front and has plenty left for the end. Good luck to the rest of the KD contenders, but I think you are looking at this years KD winner. Great horse!
