Pie, crazy Versye, old Silic 2,1,6
I think he did finish last. No idea.
GL to Ron against these stayers.
Much easier to watch this year :)
GL with the shopping trips.
1 and 6 look good to me.
As far as comparative greatness and all that, she'll remain my favorite, but truly, she didn't run as often as the long ago greats, hasn't beaten males, no speed records. I think maybe her greater fame will come from her offspring.
Laz, I did very briefly mention the Keeneland allowance win. I'm not at liberty to discuss in complete frankness her recent loss, except to say that I spoke face to face with her trainer at Belmont and he offered a quite positive, "I have her all ready for her Churchill Downs race." This was said minutes before Birdrun "ran" in the Brooklyn. I need say no more, because I'm certain that the bazillionaire owner(and please no one ever ask me what I would do in return for a birthday present like that) will make any changes he deems necessary with his investment. I realize that my post 2013 Fleur De Lis post contained distasteful language, and was partially emotion-driven, however, I found no reason to fault the mare. In short, I don't think she's a stunt car, and I didn't see the shift to the inside as all her own idea, but I leave that to the connections who have by now, or directly after the race, viewed it from every possible angle, and retained expert analysis of every second of it. As far as what she must prove, with her broodmare career already set, I would say that does make a difference as to the path of her remaining races, although I could not say that they have entirely shied from competition. Possibly, in retrospect, the Foster last year over the Fleur De Lis, of course pace was different, but obviously, her connections haven't made many mistakes with her, if any. I could certainly see even the return trip to Dubai after the stopping by Transcend, and how she was coming into that race each time. Why the Ladies' Classic over the Classic last year? Well with the loss in the Personal Ensign costing her any shot at Horse Of The Year, why not go for the repeat Ladies Classic win, as opposed to risking loss against a very tough bunch of males. Never thought tv was a she. That would be rather shocking if true. But, I have read that about the 2yo maidens before. Anyway, not saying these early ones can't be good, but as previously mentioned, I like to start checking out the babies at Del Mar or Saratoga, maybe a few late in BHP's meet.
