I was there. Mine nerves were already shot from hearing that Tale of Victory had to be put down. So I planted my tense self at my favorite pix taking position along the rail of the walking ring and waited for RA. She did not disappoint! An aura surrounded her. When Calvin climbed aboard he was not his usual smiling at the crowd self, no he was "in the zone", head down staring at RA's mane. The race? Well, you said it all. I watched the run along the backstretch thru my binoculars and when they burst out from behind the trees and she was in the lead the screaming and jumping started. The Grandstand rocked! I'll never forget feeling quite embarrased that I was the only one with tears running down my face! After reading this article I image that if you had been there, I would not have been the only one! "Pull a Paynter" Rachel! If he can do it you can too, after all, doing as well as the boys is what you DO!
