There was so much concern from Paynters fans-daily prayers-candle lighting-gatherings etc. Most importantly was that he would get better-winning the biggest challenge of his young life. Everyday I would check Twitter for updates, many times crying big tears, praying the Zayats would know when enough was enough, but Paynter would not and did not give up. His strength and courage were inexplicable. Oh, the power of prayers! Paynter is the best candidate for the Vox Populi Award.
Sorry fan friends if the hands measurement of 18th century is different than those of our thoroughbreds. Thank you for clearing that up. I wrote this and used over 25 resources, but in some of my research, information seemed more plausible from a consensus of several rather than one. The businessman that purchased Eclipse was said to have been a sheep herder and in another Wildman is said to be a meat salesman. I am thinking the comment below from AmbitiousD about Eclipse nearly being destroyed when he was young probably establishes Wildman as a meat salesman-and Eclipse could have been on the menu, given his odd look and frustrating temperament. For fans like myself that want to know more, I would like to start writing regularly about important upcoming events, awards, stakes or the horses they were named for called "Who Wants History?" THE LEGACY OF ECLIPSE was to make a 300+ year old horse and his story give even more meaning of importance to the Eclipse Award-Horse of the Year. I truly hope you enjoyed bringing Eclipse back to life, even if for just a few short moments while reading his legacy.
The moment I saw Shack run at Gulfstream, I fell in love with him. I am not the only fan that loves the Big Shack. BUT, the story of Paynter is one that has touched my heart and so many others. He has been in our minds and in our prayers of so many for months, his is an unusual story of courage, strength and faith. It is also a phenomenal showing from the Zayat family to keep his fans up to the moment on Paynters condition and thanking Pyanter's fans for our prayers. I still pray every day for Paynter's recovery as do all the 'prayer warriors for Paynter'.
With her record-unbeaten in 22 starts-and being a 6 year old mare-why would Clarke want to start her again? Hasn't she earned her oats and more?
With the Canadian International for 2012 in the past-Mott scratched Al Khali due to turf conditions, NOWdoes anyone know what the future is for 6 year old Al Khali?
Wish we had an update on Teeth! Checked Facebook-nothing recent
Prayers and patience! Keep on fighting Paynter we love you!
Laura-your prayer for Paynter brought me to tears, again. I can't stop thinking of Paynter and keep on praying for him. "Pray and never give up." Let us all keep praying for a miracle
