buds - I would also make the argument that the Kentucky Oaks, especially this year's, is worth a couple grade ones as well. DOJ is done for the year, by the way.
That baffled me too Sullivan. The only reason I didn't jump on it myself is because I have a connection to Princess of Sylmar and I felt like I would have jinxed her. Of course I can't complain about the almost 39-1 I got on Princess that day, not to mention the pure joy of the victory. But I have the utmost respect for Beholder, and I expect a lot more success from her.
Beholder, Close Hatches and Midnight Lucky are the only fillies who are in a position to keep PoS from winning the 3YO filly championship. Of those three, Beholder is clearly the best. The reason Beholder isn't being talked about is mostly because she hasn't run a race since the Oaks and there haven't been any clues given as to what her future plans are. If PoS wins one of the next two she's slated for, even a BC win might not be enough for Beholder to surpass PoS, especially if she is never given the chance to directly avenge her loss against her.
