I love Zenyatta and think she is a terrific horse. However, Seabiscuit would be very hard for her to beat, because he was tough and would run his heart out! He also beat a Triple Crown winner and son of Man O War, War Admiral. Seabiscuit was a grandson of Man O War. I just don't see Zenyatta beating a Triple Crown winner, because a Triple Crown is so hard to win, especially the Belmont Stakes. Rags to Riches just beat out Curlin in the Belmont, but she was bred for distance, and didn't have to race in the grueling Kentucky Derby and Preakness like Curlin did. Curlin was the fastest horse in the world on dirt. So I can't see her beating Curlin. Just my observations.
I think it was an awesome race that show a lot of grit by two awesome horses! My respect for both horses soared. For Blame, who has been racing great this year, and for beating the Super Mare; and for the Super Mare for showing that she has so much grit to come from SO FAR BEHIND and make up ground SO FAST, passing all of the other horses like they were standing still, and almost catching Blame before the wire suddenly appeared. This is what horse racing is all about and why I LOVE IT!!!!
I think it is such a good idea! Thoroughbred racing movies have so many times been about the really great horses like Seabiscuit, Secretariat, etc. - which make great movies -- but it's great to see a movie about the little guy coming out of no where with such courage to compete against the biggies and win! I will be first in line to buy a ticket! I fell in love with Mine that Bird! And he proved that he was no one-time wonder when he still came in second in the Preakness and third in the Belmont Stakes, placing in all three Triple Crown races!!!
