For all of my years spent in horse racing, Zenyatta will definitely be the "my famous horse" that I record in my memoirs for my grand children. The team who has brought this horse to magnificence by using good judgement and pushing away greed, as some would have done to run her at three, should be commended for making her one of the most famous horses ever in the racing world. You go!
It's obvious that there still continues to be the east/west coast rivalry among horse racing. As there was between War Admiral and Seabiscuit, so it is between Zenyatta and Rachael Alexandra. As an former jockey, exercise rider and Thoroughbred trainer, I can honestly say that there are some folks, naysayers, that have lost sight of the forest for the trees. Both of these mare as GREAT. Nothing in the verbal battle that continues to cut down these horses can take away that fact. What they've both done for the industry and fans of horse racing is what is truly phenomenal and should be the bullseye on the dartboard for discussion.
