Love the switch back to dirt - Will be key in producing a better KyDerby finish for a UAE Derby winner. 6 of 15 winners have tried it & the best finish was the first one, China Visit in 2000 (6th). Most recent: Lines of Battle 7th, Daddy Long Legs DNF, Regal Ransom 8th.
Thanks for pointing out your question about Leave the Light On. A brief update on his recent works and next race was added.
Anxious for the return of Texas Red following his remarkable BC Juvenile win - G2 San Vicente 2/1. Won't need another dominating performance to be convinced his derby chances are strong as the long layoff may earn him a hall pass if he doesn't fire.
Agree. Frosted is likely to debut in the Holy Bull 1/24, Texas Red looks ready to prep next in the San Vicente on 2/1, Dortmund to the Robert B. Lewis on 2/7. Meanwhile, we should start hearing more about training / next race decisions for others like Blofeld, Ocho, Carpe, Daredevil sometime soon.
Buckpasser - Good points. I just like the Champagne stats a bit more. Generally a slightly smaller field size vs. BC Juvenile, the Champagne has seen these KyDerby starters over the last 4 years: Super Saver, Discreetly Mine, Dublin, Homeboykris, Union Rags, Alpha, Goldencents, Ride on Curlin and Intense Holiday.
I agree with Zatt. Ward has a great chance this year along with Peter Miller. Mark Casse and his Conquest Juveniles.............seems determined to prevail.
Great win. Also, good to see that Wicked Strong checked out okay with his Vet and that Rajiv Maragh is already recovery well (Broken Arm)
Thanks - definitely fun and interesting to put together
Way to go Vicki! Great day as she also scored the Non-Graded Hatoof Stakes at Arlington Park yesterday with Annulment (Broken Vow - After Thought)
Another Kitten's Joy progeny, not owned by Ramsey, that will be racing today is Suntracer via Team Block in the American St. Leger
