I agree with you that I think Beholder is something special. Horses like her make me wish the new Derby system left more wiggle room for the ladies.

I can understand why they want any fillies to prove themselves against colts in the preps, as all three filly winners of the Derby did so - but I also wish that they would give equal points to the BC Juvenile fillies as they do the BC juvenile. One of the point holes in the new system, as is not counting the Illinois Derby. As other tracks move around races and distances, I am sure other holes will open up as well.
