Nice piece, Scott! Actually, Itsmyluckyday was my early Derby pick until Orb ran by him like he was standing still. I was flipping between Orb and Revolutionary right up until post time, but Orb, man he looked good in the post parade. Killer. So much fun to watch!!
This has me reminiscing about the rivalry between Round Pond and Happy Ticket. I wish I had been a better fan when I watch them race at Oaklawn. I was still in the beginning stages of really paying attention. Their Appleblossom? was seared on them memory of even the lightest fan! Maybe it was the Azeri? Have to look up.
Always a step behind... OK three steps this time!
Here, here, Brian! As I learned in "Betting on Horses for Dummies" (my handicapping bible, lol!) one of the best tools in handicapping is "drawing a line through" a bad race. With his record, you can't discount Dude. Silly and potentially costly to do so! :)
Fun to watch! I can't believe how much she resembles Zenyatta on the track.
Snow Chief?
Great stuff! Very well done. Thank you!
Smiles and tears. What a beautiful piece of writing, Scott. I always appreciate you because you speak from the heart. Peace and Love to you from the Cooks.
I thought it would be disappointing if he didn't win; I never considered how disappointing it would be for him not to get his shot. Very sad news.
lol! Thanks Brian. Buttery Pancakes is really growing on me.
