If Verrazano had not wiped out WTC in the Derby he may have beaten Orb-Watch the replay- I said after the Rebel this was going to be a heck of a horse- he's bigger thab Forego and runs a lot like him. When Saez was finally able to go to the left stick he really took off. Coach- you still da man- Hope they run him as a 4 yr old as it will be a treat for all the racing world to enjoy.
Beware people speading unsubstantiated rumors and gosip-Probably from UK fans
Its because the event is owned by Churchill Downs and they sold the rights to broadcast it to NBC. Plaain and simple- just like foorbal basketball hockey- college football and basketball-same deal- They screwed up when they went to ESPN and now they have better market penetration- Churchill could not even stream it themselves- MONEY is what it is about.
Well what I see is overnight up- NBC did a great job-All Day-Derby Day is not for educating people and thr Kentucky Derby is about more than just horse racing or horses- This is not a podunk track or event like Tampa Bay Downs or the Tampa Bay Derby- This is the biggest two days in racing and bigger than the Breeders cup or anything else. What makes is so big is celebritis and the powerful rich magnets and mogals and THEY SUPPORT the racing industry. Great Job NBC, Michell and all the on air crew. And Michell is better to look at than Mike Bataglia or Tom Hammond or Jerry Bailey- sorry Mike--
i think the observation below is the most under reported part of the race-i thought they were going down and he was moving right with orb- then got up for 8th even after that check to his knees-kudos to the coach for a fine traing jon and to jon court
