The most excited I've been about the Derby in years. I just hope everyone can make to the race healthy & sound. Could be one for the ages.
Never thought of it in terms of efficiency vs. inefficiency. Good thoughts.
Congrats on getting to 50, Brian! Others I've spoke with have nothing but nice things to say about Sam Houston too. I only have 33 more to go to pull even!
If time was relevant, nickel claimers from Turf Paradise would've won at least the first 20 runnings of the BC Sprint, and Europeans would stink in the BC grass events, since they typically run much slower times than what are put up over here.
Thanks for sharing, Fred. I'm glad to hear that you're improving everyday.
Time on different tracks is completely irrelevant. Not only was the Southwest run at a different track, the track was sloppy.
I never got to see the Bid in person, but I've seen replays & the only horse that comes to mind as far as versatility goes, since the Bid, would be Ghostzapper.
Disagree slightly in Oct. though...Wise Dan's performance in the Shadwell was great, but Goldencents on Halloween in the BC Mile was spectacular!
It'll be tough, I'm pulling for Main Sequence to sweep HOTY, Turf Champ & Older Male.
Great piece, Don. I've seen that name in result charts, but had no idea where he came from. Really cool stuff.
