Like I said in a previous comment, Bob Baffert would have to give Paynter at least 2 starts before The Breeder's Cup and get him on dirt. Looks like he's pointing that way after the San Diego Handicap, now possible for Woodward this saturday at "The Spa".
I'm glad Wise Dan didn't run in The Whitney, now I get to see the reigning Horse of the Year run in person this saturday up at Saratoga in the Fourstardave Handicap.
missing opening day but will be their trackside saturday and sunday, can't wait to see Zenyatta sister in the shuvee on saturday
Hope Wise Dan next race is the Fourstardave Handicap, I will be on site to see the horse of the year!
Over 4 weeks between Firecracker and Whitney, if he is just as good on dirt as he is on grass why not run both?
4 months til the classic and Paynter's will only run one more time before that, that's one race in 16 weeks. Seems like Baffert's main goal is to have Game on Dude ready for the BC Classic.
If Baffert is commited to get Paynter to the B.C. Classic, he needs to get him to run on dirt next time out and I think their is enough time and space before the Breeder's Cup to run him twice before the classic.
If B.C. Classic is Paynter's main goal Baffert needs to get him on dirt and ship to Saratoga for The Whitney. I also think he needs 2 races before the Classic not just one, bring back west after the Whitney and have run in the Awesome Again at Santa Anita .
With 3 different winners in the Triple crown races it looks like Verrazano is back in the thick of things for 3 year old of the year.
As of thursday night their is a 65% chance for shower saturday morning into the afternoon but I think all the rain will come before saturday.
