As a third generation horseman and having seen every Triple Crown race over the last 60 years, either in person or TV, (in person for Secretariat's romp in '73...after a 25 year drought) in my opinion it goes to show how the accomplishment stands alone in sports. Let's measure our champions on an equal footing (pun intended) and not degrade the traditions. Our sport is in enough trouble without tearing down additional foundations.
