Thanks Mary & everybody! We are all so excited---CC looks awesome.
'll be drinkin' those words soon enough, with extra whipped cream!
Well, the aliens think you're [going to be] here in KY, apparently. Cocoa2, you
Nice article in the L'ville paper today--with the minor correction that the "bull riding" was actually steer wrestling, which is more like the flinging of oneself off horseback onto an immature bull, rather than the bull flinging about the rider! I asked, "You rode a bull?" He said, "Once." And people wonder where I get it. . .
OK, no one's EVER called interacting with me LUCKY!!!! (If it was sarcasm---well then, that I understand! Either way, your cover's blown, now, cocoa2!) CC's fine. Gave him lots of kisses and carrots when I got here this morning, so now we're both happier :-P MZ, I hear your're in the vicinity too---awesome. Not, he's always a little full of it. The only time I'm concerned is if he doesn't do anything silly. The rumors-from-outer-space are zinging all over the place already, not just about him.
[note to self: must get backlit keyboard!!!!!--or turn on a light, I guess] ANYWAY, I wouldn't be upset if someone wanted to give me Rags. I suspect the Belmont may be beyond thrilling this year.
That's what I dislike about the Derby--too many horses. Makes me nervous, and like you say turf, the best horse can easily end up out of the money. I wish CC could keep his pre-entry pretend PP---7! Obviously I'm all about CC having the best day, but I confess I wouldn
Curiosity is a hallmark of intelligence! Yeah, the bear can pick some good ones, huh? Another horse in the barn (Hollywood Heist) wears similar blinkers but with a dollar sign rather than a bear. I love it-makes him look like a bad@ss bandit..
I just watched the head-on replay again--when Bodemeister drifted out a bit, CC may have had a Futurity flashback :0. Happy to be able to leg out, too. I don't think he needs the whip either, and anybody who even looked heavy-handed with it would never be on him anyway. The hardest part of riding CC, I think, is getting him to STOP!
Wenatchee, WA, maybe? It's not actually at Rimrock Lake. I was only a few months old in my first winner's circle pic (which was my dad, mom, me, horse, jockey on some bare ground--no actual demarcated area). It looked a little like how Hollywood's training track looks now, only bigger & without the port-a-potty. It was probably a quarter horse race, come to think of it. Yes, the Bear Stable is Mike & Patty Harrington's stable name.
