I agree with Tony. More often than not the 'brilliant' closers run into traffic, and effort is too little, too late. Yes, they win sometimes, but often it is b/c of a pace breakdown, or subpar crop. I prefer to put them in the 2,3,4 slot which is where I'll put Dullahan.
Yes, worked in blinkers for the first time! Looking forward to seeing if this can keep him focused, and maybe save some of that speed for the stretch.
Please try some blinkers on this guy next out.
Scatman-Secret Circle-Najjaar
Adk King was not closing in fast, he passed tiring horses. Sabercat is overrated and too slow. I expect Scat and Circle to open up on this bunch, with Najjaar the only one gaining late. The wildcard for me is Unbridled's Note. Last race is a toss and looked beautiful in his maiden but only over 6F.
No zatt, the trainer stated what he thought would be fair weights to be worth the trip east, no money exchange here, happens all the time.
Hollendorfer said they wouldn't run if they only got 1 pound, so 2 pounds was required to get this great matchup.
