How did I get into racing?
As a child, some of the first books I read were about horses. I became fascinated with them. One day I heard a radio commercial for Portland Meadows, so I asked my parents to take me to the track. Ultimately, I got a job there, and have gone on to work in in a variety of racing and breeding related endeavors. This includes working in track management, as a freelance writer, an auction announcer, as a bloodstock agent/pedigree consultant, for an account wagering company, and even on the regulatory side of things. I have also been an owner and breeder on a very small scale.
