There are no sure things in horse racing, or horse breeding for that matter. And thank goodness there are not. If everything were 100% predictable, the little guy would have no chance in this game. As for dosage and nicking, they are not entirely without merit, but they only give you part of the picture. They are tools to consider, but should not be solely what a breeder uses to make mating decisions.
Sorry about the double-post. Not sure why that happened.
I'd love to see Fascinating make it back for the Oaks. She's out of my mare Talent Queen's half-sister Untouched Talent.
goblin, yes Talent Queen is my mare. Between the birth of her filly and the big win by Top Billing, it was a very nice day!
1/25/14 - Talent Queen foaled a filly by Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone this morning.
Top Billing's 1/2 sister Talent Queen foaled a filly by Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone this morning. Hope he runs big today!
Fair enough, but I have still yet to see a performance by Mucho Macho Man that equals the best efforts of Cutlass Reality.
I have to respectfully disagree that Mucho Macho Man holds a class edge over Cutlass Reality. In the 1988 Holly wood Gold Cup, Cutlass Reality beat Alysheba by 6 1/2 lengths, with Ferdinand another 5 1/2 lengths back in third. Mucho Macho Man is a nice horse, but I've yet to see a performance like that out of him.
I'm very excited aboout Top Billing! I own his half-sister, Talent Queen. I have added her profile and a few pictures to the Horse Racing Nation website.
