leave it alone, everyone said it couldnt be done, and it was done. its specail because its difficult.had california chrome won it last year. this years wouldnt have been a big deal. just like in the 70s. when secretariat did it the press and horse racing fan base went crazy. by the time affirmed did it 5 years later, it was like ho hum, another triple crown winner. and that one should have been more exciting because of the alydar rivalry. not to take nothing away from seattle slew and affifrmed's accomplishments they were both awesome. but why change it when its proven it can be done.
I live in Louisville and on yesterday mornings news they said that Baffert had indicated that if all went well yesterday they were thinking of running one more prep at Churchill Downs. Im hoping the fact they sent him back to Del Mar means those plans have changed. I would love to see him run here, but Zayat said after the race that Pharoah came out of it in good order but he is a very tired horse. I think to have him on his ''A Game" for the classic its best to rest him and hope he fires fresh.. I really think the quick turnaround from the Haskell has left him vulnerable and Baffert will have to do a yeomans job to have him on top of his game for the Classic. Honor Codes connections have to be excited. Theres gonna be much more speed in the Classic , and Frosted just showed everyone the recipe to beat him. But he was without a doubt tired. Give him 2 months rest and hopefully we see the real pharoah at keeneland for his farewell ride.
pharoah showed alot of heart today, I thought he was beat when frosted came up to him but he fought him off like champions do . But that being said.,he is a tired horse and Im sure Honor Code is licking his chops. The Classic is gonna have much more speed in it than the Travers, and thats not a good thing for a tired horse. I know he has 2 months to recover, but for the 1st time this year Pharoah looks vulnerable. I think the quick turnaround from the Haskell may have compromised his chances in the Classic. They should have waited for Churchill for his final prep, but at this point i think his best chance is to rest until the Breeders Cup and hope he fires fresh.
well, i hope you all or right. but , im not so sure. triple crowns have been won numerous times. beating a 2 year old is much different than beating a triple crown champion. but a filly has never beaten a triple crown champion. if it happens, there will definately be an argument for both sides.
that would be a possibility. if by chance she would win the bcc. how could you not give it to both .
just for the sake of argument. i dont see this happening but say beholder runs in the bcc and beats american pharoah. who wins horse of the year. its crazy to think of a triple crown winner not winning horse of the year. im not sure but has a triple crown winner ever been beaten by a filly? if not. i dont think its out of the realm of possibility that she could steal the horse of the year.
Leave it alone. It will happen. And when it does we will all realize we have witnessed greatness.Personaly i dont want to see a Triple Crown winner who has to have an asterisk beside his name. Besides how special will TC be if its won every 4 to 5 years. that would hurt worse than it would help. Theres a reason it has only been done 11 times. It takes a very special horse. I think one point people miss is that back in the day there were a handful of great trainers.Today there are many. I would love to see a TC winner this year. But i dont want them to dicker with the system until they create one.
I really dont understand the people who think the connections of bayern got screwed. Bayern is a great horse, No one argues that . But he lost 2 races by 20 and 21 lengths. No horse of the year has ever lost 2 races by that much and won horse of the year. Hes a need the lead type horse. If he is challenged early he folds. In my eyes thats not horse of the year material.
enough said. never had a doubt
yeah california chrome.enough said. never a doubt
