There has to be questions in most peoples minds about McCraken and his "slight" ankle injury and the training time he missed because of it. Even though the pace wasn't all that fast in the Blue Grass ,I don't think he liked being in traffic and closer to the front than he normally is in his races. It's not his style of running and Hernandez ride didn't fit the way he likes to run. I think he's still in the top 3 of the contenders and I will toss this race out because he won't be ridden like that in the Derby.
I think it was apparent that McCraken needed that race after the injury and layoff. I question the riding strategy in that race by Hernandez. I don't think the ride fit his style of running .Toss that race and move on.
J Boys Echo is a complete toss for me in this race.
Just totally shocked with that effort in the Louisiana Derby. He got bumped at the break but no other excuse that looked visible anyway. I still think this is a very nice gelding and hopefully he'll bounce back but it won't be in The Kentucky Derby..
I have a gut feeling that Talk Logistics will be in the money here.
I think Talk Logistics will get in the trifecta somewhere in this race.
I think Girvin will still be favored at post time due to the fact he beat Guest Suite last race. I'm hoping for 3-1 but probably more like 5/2 when they go off.
Bring home the win tomorrow in the Louisiana Derby. I will be watching and cheering you on down the stretch.Go get'em Guest Suite and prove to everyone that you are the gelding that's capable of winning the Kentucky Derby.
Guest Suite is as game as they come. He hasn't had a bad effort yet and I hope he gets the win tomorrow.
Albarado has to keep Guest Suite closer to the pace this time than he did in the Risen Star. He just had too much to do in the lane to get the win. He has an extra 1/16th in this race and will redeem himself this time. This is a nice gelding and he's not getting as much respect as he deserves as a Derby contender in my opinion. Girvin is definitely the one he has to beat but he got a perfect rail trip last time.
