St. Leger will be tough...not sure he's that kind of a stayer. But let's see how his year unfolds.

Gattuso(Ac Milan fan?..lol) I agree he is a serious horse he should win the Guineas, but the Derby we will have to wait and see. He certainly has a pedigree that says he could win the Derby. His Dam's side has an American Classic winner at 2400m, and his Sire and that family line certainly know how to win a Derby. BUT don't forget Reckless Abandon either ;)

A sublimely talented 2yo for sure, and I highly suspect he'll carry that talent right onto in his 3yo season as well. It certainly didn't hurt his chances of becoming a special 3yo by Sheikh Mohammed deciding to leave him in the yard of trainer Jim Bolger in Ireland. Glad he realized that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The knock on his father, New Approach, was that he might not stay the 12f trip in the Epsom Derby. He did see it out, but escaped with a narrow, hard fought win over Tartan Bearer at Epsom that day. I'm pretty certain Bolger realized that 12f was stretching New Approach probably a bit beyond his optimum and he never ran New Approach at that distance again. He ended his career finishing 3rd in the Juddmonte International at 10-1/2f and winning the Irish Champion & Champion Stakes at 10f. My point being, I highly suspect that Dawn Approach will be much like his father. A strong galloper at 10f, probably capable of seeing out 12f but vulnerable at that distance. Assuming he goes to Epsom, and even if he wins the Derby, I don't think they'll even entertain running him over the 14-1/2f at Doncaster in the St. Leger? But that's just my personal opinion. Time will tell if I'm wrong about that or not?

Kaitline... this horse won't launch his 2013 campaign until April at the earliest, and considering that there is a 1 mile English classic - which is has a great chance of winning, he is in no way like Shanghai Bobby. Less value is put into stretching horses beyond their means just to win a classic, so even if he only proves to be a miler, there are numerous prestigious races he can target, and his trainer is keeping all of those in mind

He is extremely talented and will be tough to beat in the guineas, but man are there some great 3YOs in the UK right now. Reckless Abandon, Olympic Glory, Kingsbarns, George Vancouver, Afonso de Souza, Dundonell, Toronado...just to name a few. I cannot wait till they start their season!

haa. im not a MILAN fan "on the gallops", im a CAGLIARI fan. however, im a massive horse race fan and im just hoping that DAWN APPROACH can fill a very small part of FRANKELS boots. very tough ask i know, but the talent is there for all to see

Bolger doesn't think he can go past 1 mile, but Manning thinks he could get 1 1/2... but there is no way he can get 1 3/4

The St. Leger is one of the toughest races around. I remember when Nijinsky won it and papers in England reported he had lost over 44 lbs. during the running. Also he was never the same after it.
