Australia produces some of the world's finest turf sprinters, & BC is the best of the best. As lonhro stated above, Ortensia won in Dubai which validated the quality of Aussie sprinters. Ortensia had previously lost by 6-7 lengths to BC.
He developed a problem with 1 of his hooves right before the Derby & was scratched.
DLL was not handling the track @ all, so his jockey took care of him & pulled him up. He's already left for Ireland.
TCI won't be running in the Belmont or any place else for awhile. He came out of the Derby with an ankle chip.
There were 5 Ca based horses in the Derby. The worst finish for any of them was Rousing Sermon who finished 8th. Of the top 8 horses, only 3 weren't Ca horses.
I don't know what's going on with CC. Yesterday, Steve Haskin & the espn guys said he looks "great." This am Jeff Siegel said he looks awful. I just hope if there is something wrong, his connections do the right thing by the horse.
With all due respect to Hansen, having Secretariat in a pedigree is ubiquitous. 16/2O of this Sat's Derby horses are his descendants. Take Charge Indy has him the closest being sired by Secretariat's grandson, A.P.Indy.
As I said above, the horse worked Monday. Harrington's routine is to walk his horses for 2 days following a work. If he doesn't gallop tomorrow, THEN, there's a problem. CC was his usual bundle of energy this afternoon schooling in the paddock.
Harrington always walks his horses or 2 days after a work. CC's behavior while being schooled in the paddock is far more problematic. His Storm Cat blood is showing. (I agree about O'Neill & the shockwave stuff. Something's very hinky about that.)
Sorry, zen, but where you lived 30 yrs ago is meaningless. BTW, BC, like every other horse outside N/A, races without lasix, bute, or any of the other garbage that's pumped into American horses.
