Would love to see Plum Pretty show up 3 weeks later in the La Troienne.

Playing this weight game is something that was commented on back in Nov when I spoke with Larry Jones on the Churchill Backside, he said then that they wouldnt run Grace at Oaklawn and that was most likely due to the issue of the Del Cap 2 lbs given up to BL in that race, unfortunate that we're 9 months removed and we're still hearing about it, we're playing a weight game with a HOY, seriously, get over it and race the horse. Tired of the posturing, and telling Baffert "Bob I hope you enjoy those 10 lbs, because you're not getting them from us" speechless. Glad the connections of Royal Delta dont play this sort of game.
I think he said that he wants to compare Zenyatta to Secretariat but that there is no way he could do that due to the sure lackluster career resume she has at the top level of competition.
Pretender, not a contender.
Its amazing to see the word lunacy from Craig Bradshaw who just touted a horse as a superstar at a certain distance that only won at the distance 1 time in her 20 race career. I laugh so hard at some of the posts people make, its like they have only been around the game for 2 or 3 years and ONLY know Zenyatta. Consider the fact that her connections ducked the top 10furlong races at her home track to run in 8.5f elongated sprint distances at which she recorded some mediocre times is the reality of the matter. And everyone of the races that she ran in out in California other than the 2 BC races that currently have ******* listed by them due to the surface she won the races on being removed were all Optional claimer in Quality. Those fields looked quite similar to the Ladies that Grace ran in over the weekend. But back to the 10 furlong superstar, Zen was 1 for 2 at the distance and 0/1 on dirt, now considering the fact that Music Note and Proud Spell both have a 10 furlong win on dirt, that would make them 10 furlong Mega stars, and here’s an even better one, Blind Luck with 2 mile and a quarter wins would dwarf Zenyatta. Reality evades some people, but the question is where would the Lava Man with 3 10 furlong wins and Curlin with 5 10 furlong wins rank, that’s the real question, would they be super duper mega stars Craig, and before u backtrack let me quote you.“any comparison of grace to zenyatta is just lunacy at this point. you're comparing an 8.5f horse to a 10f superstar.” Your words, no one else’s. Im laughing while im waiting for this response, lol.
Totally agree that Awesome Maria was impressive yesterday, but I dont put alot of stock in a true classic distance horse prepping in a 8.5f race. Bill Mott has a plan for RD and she gets stronger as the races get longer. She was very much up against it yesterday, lightly trained and cutting way back in distance from her best trip. I believe she will get a piece of it in Dubai.
Currently Havre De Grace is at Fairgrounds instead of at Oaklawn where the filly prepped for her HOY campaign last year, the question that is intriguing is why. Why would Larry Jones stray away from what he previously stated was the best place to train a horse to go down to a Fairgrounds race course that has not produced a legitimate triple crown contender or eclipse award winning horse in many years. Jones was even quoted as saying that "Last year" his star filly Havre De Grace "had some issues we had to take care of, plus we have a better track to train on", referring to the Fairgrounds oval where they are stabled at this year. It will be interesting to see if he is able to develop his horses into contenders coming out of that area. More importantly, will these connections at any point be honest with the fans and the public about the ongoing fued with Pat Pope the racing secretary at Oaklawn and Delaware Park where HDG and Blind Luck hooked up in an epic stretch duel to see BL prevail by a nose while receiving a 2 lb weight allowance from HDG. It has been rumored that there was a dispute and some harsh words after the race towards the racing secretary Pat Pope and the connections stated that they would not run at Oaklawn and Jones stated that he would not stable or start "ANY" of his horses at Oaklawn this year. This would mean the skipping of the G3 Azeri to run in the ungraded N.O Ladies and skipping the G1 Apple Blossom to run in the G2 New Orleans Handicap. Interesting situation has developed here, stay tuned for an update. Right or Wrong it looks as if FHF and or Larry Jones horses wont be seen at Oaklawn.
Also remember 2 year old filly – Sweet Catomine, 3 year old male – Summer Bird, Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex & Barbaro who i feel was twice the horse Bernardini ever was.
