If it's a sloppy track you have to put money on Vyjack and Palace Malice.
I hate the fact that NBC gives horse racing the cold shoulder to those fans without cable or satellite TV. They can interrupt regular braodcasting to show tennis and golf on their free NBC channel but can't do the same for horse racing. First they took away covering the Breeders Cup in it;s entirety and now they screw us out of prep races for the Derby. They chose to cover the World Series of Poker instead. Then when they did show the Blue Grass, they cut away and said the Arkansas Derby was going to be shown on it;s NBC Sportsnetwork station. There are many fans that can;t afford or choose not to have cable or satellite who deserve better treatment from NBC. I say that the NTRA should consider switching to Fox because they do a great job showing NASCAR. Horse racing fans can;t even watch the Kentucky Oaks or Black Eyed Susan without having cable or satellite. At least I can go online and watch racing but there are some who can;t even do that. I'm tired of horse racing fans getting shafted.
He's the one I've had my eye on. The way he fought back in the Withers shows me that he doesn't get thrown off his game very easily. I'm looking for him to run a big race in the Derby.
I can't believe Lady of Shamrock isn't on this list. She had a really great year and deserved to be on this list. Maybe it's about time the fans get a bigger say on the nominees.
I've been watching your horses and am very impressed. You have done a great job. I've been trying to find out if we're related. That's because I was raised by my maternal grandparents and never knew any relatives from the Englehart side of my family. As a huge thoroughbred racing fan, I just thought it would be great knowing that I was related to a thoroughbred trainer. I have loved the sport of horse racing for my entire life and usually follow the races at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park because I'm a huge Mike Smith fan. When I started watching TVG, that's when I first saw a horse trained by someone with the last name Englehart. It made me wonder so I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. I was born, raised and still reside in Lancaster County PA. I don't know much about my paternal family except a few small pieces of info and that is why I'm trying to piece it all together. Anyway thanks for reading this and I wish you great success.
