oh the wonder of the 70s and the exciting horses of that decade Starting with the improbable Canonero II then 3 Triple Crowns and ending with the fantastic Bid Never be another decade like it
love Sajjhaa and California Memories
we see this all the time The "it" 2 yr old colt or filly failing to progress at 3 as the others mature and catch up and go forward Sometimes I think this is a huge factor when it comes to 3 yr old injuries Continuing to try and grab higher black type the the horse has talent for just because they did well in a couple black type 2 yr old races The horse might be an outstanding allowance horse but trainer or owner doesn't want to face it or feel they failed if they drop So they keep entering over the horses talent til it breaks
also they didn't show a bit of chauvinism when they had Zen take on the best males in BC Classic not once but twice when running in BC Filly/Mare would have been sure wins
not chauvinistic at all In work place for a woman to get ahead she must work with the men and do as well or better Same for fillies in this situation Julia has not earned the right since she has only run in restricted company and you can only speculate about possibly being better than the males
I,personally, like that a filly would have to face males prior to Derby to get in As stated the fillies that have won Derby had faced males before the win I don't think this was a mistake or oversight by CD
I wish for a field of 14 for quality and for safety
that 'toon is awesome well and rightly done Mel Leonard
hoping Elnaawi gets a dif jockey
I don't feel that 2 yr old champ not making race is chaotic Just would show not good enough The Derby is for top 3 yr olds not top 2 yr olds
