"The best jockeys get the best horses".
I just saw some scuttlebutt from a message board (take with a grain of salt): Gary said he heard a loud pop at the 1/2 mi pole and pulled him up. The horse was bearing weight on all 4 legs, a split was put on his left front, and he was vanned to the barn for further examination. Most likely: suspensory ligament in his left front leg. If that's the case, they can surgically repair it but Take Charge Indy won't be the same racer he was. TL;DR: he's done.
I've always had a liking for gray horses myself. Considering the gray gene is dominant, I wonder if Zenyatta's chestnut foal by Tapit will gray out.
Kent has always been at the top of my Favorite Jockey list. How many jocks come within a NOSE of winning the Triple Crown? I wish him luck in battling whatever problems he has in life that drive him to the bottle. Get well, Kent!!
Interesting...I wonder who Pletcher will put on Revolutionary. Calvin Borel would be a good choice...or maybe Rosie.
Beautiful little guy. I hope he turns gray like his sire Tapit.
I called it time and time again: Shanghai Bobby is a miler....no point in even entering him in the Derby. If his owner and Pletcher are smart, they'll put SB in races of 1mi or less and make a lot of money. If they don't, then they'll ruin a good horse whose only failing is not having the stamina to go 1-1/16mi or more.
Chantal needs to go on a diet before she makes her comeback. She's put on a few pounds in her retirement. Chantal's good but Rosie Napravnik is better. Rosie doesn't pose buck naked on a horse to boost her popularity; she just wins races.
Chantal will need to drop some weight first. Saw her on TVG a couple weeks ago and she's chubbed up a little bit. I hope she's quit the bottle; that got her suspended and taken off mounts at Woodbine shortly before she retired.
