He certainly can, really nice win by the Capt.!!
I watched this race for the very first time in November after hearing about it ever since I started reading up on horse racing as a kid. I was astounded! Horses that evenly matched and determined is a one-in-a-million shot, such a fantastic race!
I have a feeling Machen, Morning Line, Rule, Evening Jewel and Life At Ten will all move up thier respective lists as the year progresses.
Dialed In was super impressive, and Nick Zito looks like a genius for running him now! Switch was great once again, it's going to be a very interesting year with her, that's for sure. Would be nice to see her win the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint this year.
Nick Zito looks like a genius now after running Dialed In, what a performance!
I'm so glad to see Evening Jewel back in the win column! She's far too good to be retired yet, I cant' wait to see what she does the rest of the year.
So well said! I coulnd not believe the naysayers during Rachel's 2010 campaign. Of course the bar was raised incredibly high and expectation were through the roof, but I also thought she ran a good campaign. It was a shame to see her go out on losing note, she was too good for that to happen. I would have loved to see her in the Breeders' Cup!
Great post! I love Repole, he's so energetic and enthusiastic, I think he has really infused the sport with a little more life since entering the racing scene. He sure makes a good team with Pletcher.
I think Wilkinson is going to turn into a really good runner. He was so determined and tough getting through on the rail in the lecomte and when he finally did get up to win he galloped out well ahead of Pants On Fire.
Phar Lap and Citation should be 1-2, they did so much in such a short amount of time it makes all others acheivements seem a little less stunning. Citation winning 18 of 19 races during his Triple Crown year will always be one of the greatest feats in history to me. And Phar Lap winning 14 in-a-row and 9 in-a-row twice is flat out amazing!
