watched all the preakness replays. speed does not necessarily win the preakness (shackleford layed second last year). the last wire to wire winner was Louis Quatorze in 1996. 100 exacta box IHA and Went the Day Well.
Went the Day Well rallied from 17th to run 4th in a day wnen deep closers had no chance. Bodemeister may need more rest after a taxing ride. Went the day will win if the track shows closers winning early.
He ran the right race as a tactical speed horse when Bodemeister went out to fast. That race took too much out of Bodemeister and he will not run well in the Preakness. I think Dullahan will win because he raced well as a deep closer on a day he had no chance becaulse of the track bias toward frontrunners.
three track records were broken with the speed favoring track. almost every race was won by the frontrunnner. Both of the Oaks horses in the speed duel ran 1-2. Front runners went wire to wire in the 11th and 12th(20 to 1 shot). Still, you can't take off like a quarter horse in the derby. Controlled speed easily wins Bodemeister the race.
