This is a good race with multiple possibilities that I looked at with interest. Contenders before scratches: #3, 8, 11, 10, 7. With long shot possibilities on the #6 and 4. Without a doubt, the horse to beat is the #10 Emollient (6/5) Smith/Mott. If the horse runs to its' ability, it's lights out and all over. However, the horse may be vulnerable due to its 2L and hard last race. If that is true then I will, at the risk of bucking Master Jarrod, take a shot with my pick....#8 Sisterhood (12/1) Ward/Velasquez. Has rising speed figures, coming off a layoff, surface switch and good connections....most of all value. Exotics can go many ways. I'll just stick to win and 2X place. Good luck!!!
My mistake....Johnny V. rules.
Rosie rules....#7, 4, 3, 1.
I like the 6/5, 9, 3, 2 in exactas/tri's and reverse. Good luck!!!
I like this race and my choice will be summarily overlooked if it doesn't scratch out. Contenders: #5, 2, 6, 7. Favorite #2 Blazingly (5/2) legitimate. My choice, #7 Toughtoconvince (8/1). Bet to win, 2X to place. Exactas/tri's....7/6, 2, 5, 4, straight. Good luck!!!
Thanks for all your comments. And I agree, it all depends on your bank roll and comfort betting zone. For most players without the obligatory betting bank roll, value is a necessity since the return in dollars is scant. Again thanks and good luck!!!
First off there is no value in this race. It is basically a two horse race between the #2 (3/1) and #6 (5/2). Both will be bet down to favorite and co-favorite. Take your choice. However, be mindful of the principles of this game as promoted in the new "Horseplayer" T.V. show, Value is the key to success in this business not picking winners. Good luck!!!
This card, as well as this race, is typical Thursday fare at S.A. not offering much in the way of value anywhere. However, contenders before scratches: #6, 7, 1, 8. The favorite #6 Closet E (5/2) is legitimate and has it all over this field. Only thing that beats this horse is a bad ride by the newbie F.H. Perez, who has yet to prove that he can ride. No value for me...pass...Good luck!!!
Contenders before scratches: #4, 6, 1a, 2, 8. The favorite, #2 Joy Train is legitimate but is just too slow for this bunch. Agree with T.V. the need is for SPEED. The horse that fills the bill and my choice is the #8 Mining Town (8/1). Can't argue with speed at a price. Good luck!!!
Contenders before scratches: #8, 7, 1, 6. Don't believe you can beat King Jerry here. Choice goes to #8 Joelito (9/2). Bet #8 to win/2Xplace. Exactas/trifectas...8/7, 1, 6, 3 and reverse. Good luck!!!....by the way, had the winners in the Derby and the Wood as well as the $40 bomb in the 9th as S.A.
