How could toews on Ice run last?
American Pharoah loss at The “Grave yard of favorites”
I believe the decision to race in the Travers was the owner
(money). To me Bob Baffert face showed that: I knew it look”. Bob told it the
way it was.
I love Saratoga (Spa) racing. With the first turn (elimination
turn) and the last turn (Position Turn), and short stretch.
But Bob was correct AP was not rested (and shipper time)
enough. Bob had him where he wanted to be, but came up empty.
I think he should
have run in the Pa Derby,
He will need another
race before the Breeders. This was a bad decision ($$) one way or another.
This loss really hurts at this stage.
I was wrong about Honor Code, but what a race he ran. Sara toga is the best track to handicap horses, This is the first time I lost a bet, but enjoyed the race.
Honor Code: I don’t know what you all see in this Colt. He
has not won a race over a mile, since Nov 2013. He has the breeding and the trainer,
but appears to be spooked about going two turns on a track.
If that is the case he will be in trouble in the Whitney
(G1) at Saratoga Race Track (The Graveyard of Favorites).Look at Liam’s Map four
straight wins (11/16@ 1.42.51).He has the Fappiano/unbridles line on his sire (think
Re RuffianLover :Negative Dream Comment
I wonder what you were thinking when you poster your
negative dream comment.
When you buy a ticket or place a bet on a horse you want to
see the best athlete, the best sporting event.
I had a dream that I was eating marshmallows, when I woke up
my pillows were gone.
I believe Chrome is a turf horse who had a smart trainer,
who guided him thru all his wins. One of the traits of a turf horse is he does
not like dirt or mud in his face. Chrome’s trainer made sure he had his head out
in front of the other horses. AP will roll all the way (with his X –Factor) in
the Haskell Invitational
K.D, Thank You for your courteous reply to my comment and
your attachment “Chasing the X - Factor”
I enjoyed reading your informative comment and the article
by Spiletta42, I was not aware of what the X- factor was all about and how
genes are passed on.
In the Article it mentioned my favorite Horse “Kelso”. I saw
him run many times, but never saw the man with the “Black Bag” make a bet.
Thank You Again
R: American Pharoah / Dr. Fager
Last year when I first heard of American Pharoah (8-7-0-00 I
saw his dosage was433/108, which is ok for a two year old , but not a three
year old, I did not look any further then his Sire (Pioneer of the Nile -Empire
Maker , and his Dam little princess Emma
I went with the Dosage and did not consider him much as a
three year old.
After he won the Belmont I went back and saw Dr Fager (22-18-2-1)
in his sire line with unbridled and Fappiano.
I could see some of Dr Fager in American Pharoah, the stride
the power, and his speed. Dr Fager broke the world record for the mile at
1.21.3/5 with 1 34 lbs.
I would like to see American Pharoah show all his talent, if
there is a horse to push him to run his true self
We will see.
American Pharaoh will not win the Arkansas Derby, because his DI is 4.33 is too high for a three year old.
Barbados: Watch this 3 year old colt. Great stretch runs, in
the Spectaculars Bid on 01/03/15 6f at 1.09.40 Sire Speighstown, Dam Street Cry (Fappiano). He
looks like a sprinter but has good family to go long. Also, bold ruler has been
hot in the Derby the last two years
A trainer should only be allowed to run one horse per race,
especially in the Kentucky Derby. Having two or more horses in a race isn’t
fair to the bettors. The trainer can set the pace, block out other horses, hold
a horse on the rail, and have a team of horses against the other trainers who play
fair and have one horse. Plus all the above causes potential injury to both horse
One more note “Why would an owner allow his trainer to use his
horse for the all the above dangerous conditions?
