Super Saver was 2nd in AR in 2010, so he doesn't have to win Saturday to stay on my Derby list :)
somehow I am not surprised this headline attracted this type of conversation...:-/
this is a great article!
Caixa Electronica is one of the horses I always root for. He's not flashy, but he picks up the checks!
Steve Haskin's book on Dr. Fager is one of my favorite racing books ever. Check it out for more on the good Doctor :)
Who is going to cheer on Shack in his career finale tomorrow?? I'll be there!
I cannot say enough about the RTIP - I am a graduate of the program & one of the 90% employed immediately after graduation! I took the business path & got a good, in-depth look at how tracks & ADWs are managed, the economics of racing & the legal framework that the sport works within (or strains against!). I also had incredible opportunities to meet racing insiders, tour farms 7 tracks, and also did a kick-ass internship. The cost was pretty high for me being out of state, but it was totally worth it. I had NO racing connections before going to UA, you build those during your time in the program. I had only good grades & passion for the sport - that is all you really need to succeed! Today I work for HRN :)
Skip Away leading the parade in the '97 Classic, or Point Given's dramatic stretch run to just miss Macho Uno in the '00 Juvenile, and all of Z :)
