Two wins on dirt does not prove she is one of the best ever. Sorry!!!!!
Lewpe, I don't know what you have been smoking, but if you are saying Goldkiva race in the BC was on dirt you have to change your medications.
Number I don't think Goldikova ever ran on dirt. I am not sure about her running on anything other then grass. Using her as an example doesn't make sense. It has been proven beyond dispute that a vast majority of dirt horses cannot duplicate their form on poly or synthetic tracks. It has nothing to do with east coast trainers looking for an advantage. Why should you ship across the country when you know in advance that there is a good chance that your horse will not perform on the synthetic tracks. Zenyatta more then proved that she could run on real dirt tracks so she should have crossed the mississippi to face much better then what she was facing on the west coast.
It is not that Zenyatta could not run on dirt, it would be foolish to argue otherwise, she probably is better on dirt. The point is that alot of horses especially east based coast horses could not put out their best effort on the poly track. Zenyatta pre cup only ran 2 times on dirt therefore is essence was limiting her competition. That is the knock on her and to me it is a big one. She basically had a career that was very limited in scope. Very hard to achieve greatness that way. I admit she is a very good horse, but most likely will neber have a HOY award. I think a case of short sightness by her owners.
PS: If lucky ran against the horses Zenyatta ran against leading UP to the BC he would have been undeafeated this year also.
Come on itchy, saying last years cup run on plastic was stronger then this years shows your total ignorance about horse racing and arguing with you is like talking to a wall. Last year was probably the weakest BC ever. The only reason a majority of the horses ran in last years BC was because it was on poly track. Where was Gio this year when it was run on a real racetrack. In the turf mile where had a much fairer chance to run well. Last year Zenyatta beat turf horses, big deal.
Those against Zenyatta for HOY are not necesserly haters. I think that most of us that are not in her camp have more of a issue with the Mosses. They deliberately ran her against inferior horses to build her legacy. Then they whine when her detractors bring this fact up. They refused to let her prove her dominance against like ability horses. One or two races against better stock would have shut up all of her critics (like me). If given that opportunity I am sure she would have given a good account of herself. Would victories been assured, who is to say. The Mosses just refused to be true sportsmen and let there great mare shine. NO HOY for Zenyatta is absolutely their fault.
If you don't have the facts on your side, dazzle them with bullshit.
Get off the drugs affirmed.
PS: there is no anomisity just a healthy difference of oponion.
