We tend to breed milers and hope they can pull a distance in general. Stamina seems to have gone out the window.

I think that if you give her a little more speed on the front end and a little more distance she should be ok to go into graded company. Most horses don't go undefeated for such a long time as Zenyatta. It's time to see how she'll do

kaitlinefree1 I would add animal kingdom to Frankel and Wise dan. Animal kingdom not coming off of a long layoff and with a less biased track is easily as good as wise dan in my opinion. Frankel would probably still win though. He was just a monster

Oh, and my top choices for sires would be 1) First Samuri 2)Empire Maker or Bodemeister (considering Empire Makers residence) and 3) Animal Kingdom

I'm not completely sold, but what do you guys think of Harlans Holiday? Might bring a little speed, and he's a beautiful looking animal. I don't think they should be looking for a really speedy horse. I understand that you want a foal that doesn't drop as far back as Z, but genetics/whatever decides running style is built to close, so instead of choosing something opposite from her It might make more sense to just slightly change it. Choose a stallion that was quicker than Z, but not completely different. I think a good routing horse that sires good route horses should be used. Just my thoughts and opinions, I'm not exactly highly qualified :)

Animal Kingdom could be a nice choice. He is proven at a mile and a quarter (Derby) but has a great turn of foot. I wouldn't necessarily go with a stallion that has only speed though. Maybe a good mile - a mile 1/4 stallion that has a turn of foot. I'd like to see an Empire Maker baby.

It would be nice to see her bred to I'll have another if she's in Japan
