I am not trying to sound rude or anything, but what's so special about Rachel's Woodward win, besides the fact she is the only female to ever have won it?? Yes, it's G1, but really, why does that make her better than Zenyatta?? How is the Woodward more impressive than the BCC??
This is John Nerud's direct quote, you can look it up if you don't believe me: "She (Zenyatta) is probably equal or better than any mare I have ever seen." Don't call me that, I am educated, and I have gone to International competitions concerning "education". I am not toying with his words. Look it up, he may have said RA is better than Ruffian, but he directly said Zenyatta is better than any mare he'd ever seen. By world class, I meant that she was recognized around the world by just about everyone that knows anything true about horse racing, and realizes that she is "equal or better" than any female racehorse....ever....Don't ever call me that again.
Okay, in 2008, Curlin didn't rob Z of HOTY, he deserved it that year. In 2009, Zenyatta did deserve HOTY, RA robbed her of that title. And if Curlin could get HOTY in '08 with his BCC loss, then why shouldn't Z be able to get her HOTY title with her BCC loss?
And who might that best horse in the world be?? Let me remind you that RA pulled out of the Apple Blossom, not Zenyatta. The BCC consists of all of the best males and females in the world...so I really don't know what you're talking about... Every horse has a preference, you have a preference, I have a preference, you can't hold that against her, and she did venture off of the synthetics. She set tons of new records, and I am sorry you don't realize how special she is. Even the great John Nerud said she was special, and the greatest female he'd ever seen. So, if you can say John Nerud is wrong, then you really need to take a closer look at the sport...
No, in 2008, she won the Ladies Classic at Oak Tree at Santa Anita, in 2009 she won the BCC at Oak Tree at Santa Anita, and in 2010, she lost the BCC by a nose at Churchill Downs. So maybe you should do the research... I am not an amateur, and I know an elite athlete when I see one, I am not saying RA isn't an elite athlete, but I am just saying I like Zenyatta better, she is a world class athlete, so drop it.
That's not what I meant, what I meant to say was that even with her Woodward win, Zenyatta's BCC win was more impressive because it's the BCC.
Keeneland is not Blame's hometrack, Churchill Downs was.
I am saying that Zenyatta being the only female to ever win the BCC is more impressive than Rachels Woodward where a filly has won that before. I am not an amateur, and I am not saying Zenyatta is perfect.
I agree simulation racing is inaccurate, but I'm positive Zenyatta at the worst would get third, behind Citation and Affirmed. Even though it's impossible to tell how they would compare to each other, Zenyatta could've beaten those horses...all of them.
I am positive that she could have beat six of those horses. At the worst, she would've gotten third.
