Looks like most of these choices are on point and it would be hard to argue with these. is there a category for overall Horse of the Meet?
Under conditions of the La Troienne she would give 8 lbs to PP, i hope Baffert goes there instead.
Actually Craig if you scroll up you will see the most ridiculous statement ever posted, and believe me when i say that the statement that I saw would make one wonder if you'd ever viewed or had a love for Horse racing before ehh, 2009, lol but here's the statement. Let me quote it: "you're comparing an 8.5f horse to a 10f superstar", Craig, I would need u to provide verification by means of listing the Races, that's plural that your 10f Superstar won and had the chance to prove her mettle in. I'll wait, and this is for you to answer Craig. Thanx, i'm waiting.
The uninformed are just absolutely Clueless. But its fun to laugh at people like cocoa2. roflmao.
Facts are hard for some people to swallow, unfortunately this could start another one of those debates again, there is no doubt that the quality of the field that Grace ran against yesterday was pathetic, but that's happened 1 time in her career, Zenyatta on the other hand faced the likes of much less than Juanita 10+ times in her career, if you can explain away the Gambler's Justices and Cherryblossommiss's on the resume of Zenyatta then it would be ok to say that if FHF seeks out and intentionally looks for the weakest of filly and mare competition that a comparison could be made, unfortunately it can't, Zenyatta never once faced males from Jan-Oct 31st of the year, alas two classics, and while that is or was ok for some, she was never put through a true championship campaign, and for many others that was not enough, Grace has a open company win on dirt against males in a legit race during the actual season of racing, not ducking races and consistently taking on weaker fillies and mares, Zenyatta doesnt have credentials of this nature because Jerry Moss wanted to Prep all year long and not even challenge her before the first week in November. This method is not considered championship racing, its called ducking the rest while they beat up on each other, so when Grace continues to seek out mediocre fillies and mares 2 or 3 more times in 2012, then we can draw a comparison, until then just enjoy the Grace of the "Queen of American horse racing" Havre De Grace.
This argument about the 1700 horses that were foaled that Man O War ran against compared to the 30,000+ that we have foaled now days I believe is the most incredibly ridiculous statement used to prove who a horse is or isnt. Now a days we have 20 horses make the KY Derby, does it matter if there are 1000 born or 100,000 born, the quality of horse that we have running right now is absolutely embarrassing. There are literally 5-10 horses that run in the Derby every year that wont win another graded stakes race for the rest of their career. Futhermore considering the fact that many of these horses can't compete at distances longer than 1 mile gives indication as to what type of horse we have running nowadays also. Man O War faced all comers, he didnt hide in a certain division like horses do now days, he didnt duck travel like some horses do now days and his owners didnt put him in weak allowance quality preps to focus on 1 race per year like we've seen in the last 2 or 3 years from certain horses. He faced all that would come see him and ducked no one. Was he the best ever, thats arguable, but only the uninformed will keep using the excuse that he only ran against horses born that year with a foal crop of 1700 as opposed to the 37,000 plus optional claimers and allowance horses that run now days compared to the 100 or 200 legit graded stakes horses that are campaigned. Amazing the work some people put in to be discredited by outlandish statements that are nothing but naive opinions. IJS
Some statements make absolutely no sense.
Is Falcon Rock better than Gio Ponti. lol hilarious some of the statements posters put out there that makebab
Will knows that there is no chance that Winchester could win an eclipse off of 2 wins if he were to win the turf, anyone that things that Acclamation has a shot at any awards with a 5th and last place finish while running in the watered down So Cal division of turf racing out there has no idea what running and winning the top 3 races turf wise in America.
Way over that posters head, maybe this was his first visit and he knows little about Ruffian.
