I like CC & Wicked Strong. Both have a hood chance. I agree that post position will have a lot to do with my decision.
No past sprint champ has ever repeated let alone finished in the money in the following year after winning. The question for me is will this be the year that doesn't hold true and will Trini be able to show up after a pretty bad year? I love Trini, so if the price is right I just might have to put $100 across the board like last year.
GOD is the one that should win. Looking at his performances this year in comparison to all the other horses, he should win. He seems to have matured this year into a horse that cannot be beat, unless the track comes up sloppy. Then all bets are off. Probably PM on the off going over RTG
I watched the stretch run a dozen times, there was no contact! Yes, NC did lug out & in but that would not have changed the result. The stewards decision changed the result. From my perspective when there is no contact AND the result would not have been different anyway, the stewards should leave the result alone. And WTH was Rosie gonna lodge an objection for? She just ran out of track.
The DQ was completely wrong on Nellie Cashman. There was no contact between the horses and whatsdachances was clearly beaten. Cost me the super!!!! I've seen way worse result in no change. I felt it was bias against Forest Boyce and favoritism for Rosie & Javier
The Belmont stakes is the most accessible venue. I've attended over 20 Preakness stakes. Both as a youth in the infield and in the best seats in the grandstand. Access to the track is horrible as you navigate the worst and most lengthy traffic jam to get there and parking is horrible unless you buy a parking pass. Public transportation is only by bus and as a practical matter there is nowhere to catch a bus from the suburbs. I've gone to the last 2 Belmont stakes and loved going to New York by train and getting dropped off at the track entrance by subway. The cost of travel, tickets and hotels is far less expensive than the Preakness. I hope they do move the Preakness by building a new track hopefully in the city of Baltimore. It's in horrible run down condition and is located in the slums. If u park outside the track u are harassed by the locals for money, to park on their lawn or to transport your belongings for a fee in their stolen shopping cart. NICE!
