And the logical thing to do is retire him. I figured as much, him being owned by a stud farm. But seriously?
Union Rags is a great horse. Hansen is a great horse. But today it was Hansen's day.
She was boxed in nearly the whole race, pressed to the inside by Head Ache. She didn't like it, and when it came time to fire she was done.
YAY, it gives them another fatuous reason to mention Zenyatta in every sentence. Even though she is utterly irrelevant to Drosselmeyers lovely win, bleh.
That's good, but like I said; he'd EXCEL in sprinting. He was holding on for all he had in that race. No 12 or 10 furlongs for him. He MAY get 9 furlongs, but that is a big maybe.
Valiant effort by this timeless mare. But, in the end nowhere to run and just being an age old lad caught up with her. But even beyond this, she will forever be the greatest miler of her time. UNDOUBTEDLY.
No Triple Crown for Hansen, his talented style of running is MADE for sprinting. Leave the TC for the distance dudes.
Union Rags is obviously going to be the distance horse, but Hansen should be directed more to sprint races. There the grey fireball will absolutely prosper. Still the colt is undefeated, 3 for 3 and beating the doubters by slashing a great field.
Holy shit. Handsome Hansen breaks the laws of physics and beats Union Rags after a run like that... WOWWOWOWOW
19+ hands? Someone is rather creative.
