And what happened to Algorithms?
I have been very impressed with what IHA has been able to do up to this point but I have to agree with Patrick...it's all too easy to get caught up in TC Mania. I don't believe IHA will pull it off though. Better horse have come this close before and most have failed. There's a reason for that. This is the most grueling race of them all. None of these horses has ever gone this distance so none of us can say with accuracy what the final 1/4 mile will bring. The best we can do is look at pedigree and hope we're right. I am not an IHA hater...I just don't see it. I've watched the Preakness many times since its running and I draw the same conclusion...IHA and Bode were clearly better than every horse on the track that day. But what I saw was a tiring IHA running down an exhausted Bode. I don't know what, if anything, IHA has left to give. There's no Bode to worry about but then he wouldn't get the distance anyway. Not a UR believer but with running room how dangerous can he be? And the new-shooters? I hit the trifecta last year on this race. I knew for a week what I was going to do, but on race day, as I sat looking at the track conditions I got an eerie feeling and made one last bet...the winning ticket. My point is, rain or shine anything can happen on this track and it usually does. Oh...to all the people calling IHA "Lil' Red"...please stop.
Look at Unstoppable U's pedigree... Not saying he can win it but he could make the exotics very interesting.
